GROUNDS FOR ENGAGEMENT
Engagement shoots are short and sweet. We get right down to the real stuff within minutes of (usually) meeting for the very first time. Sometimes that can be weird for a few moments before the couple loosens up and gets comfortable with us. There is a lot of giggling and awkward exchanges until they realize that we are super into what we are doing and we are trying to make art with them. This shoot was no different.
Marie was really nervous about the shoot. Kevin stepped right in, like a true gentleman and did everything he could to make her comfortable. You could literally see the love they have for one another. He gently held her and kissed her for the majority of the shoot as if Colin and I weren't anywhere in sight. I was so moved by how sweet he was with his bride. I could tell that he is really a kind person who just wanted her to feel loved and safe. And why shouldn't she...girl is adorable. Everything about her is just sweet and naturally beautiful.
The day started off with really nasty weather and when we got to Grounds for Sculpture it was the tale end of the storm. We were able to capture some really cool overcast skies in the photos and a lot of movement because it was really windy! And then...the stars aligned...the sun came out while it was barely raining. Only for a few moments but we captured a few really beautiful images as a result. To get dark skies, wind, sun, rain and oh did we mention it was 65 degrees out?! Yea, it was pretty gorgeous. We cannot wait to photograph these two natural lovers next August at Pat's 30 Acres!
