Where do we even start with Ariana + Michael? Probably with the day we met up in NYC during what felt like the rainiest monsoon the city has ever seen—subway flooding, wind turning umbrellas inside-out, the whole cinematic disaster vibe… and you two still showed up ready to roll. That “Love Story Shoot” ended up being shown at the wedding reception (iconic), and spending that day together made one thing crystal clear: you were going to be calm, fun, and completely yourselves on the wedding day—no matter what the weather tried to throw at you.
Fast forward to wedding day: freezing temps, fresh snow on the ground, and the kind of winter light that makes everything look dreamy. We pulled up to The Carlsyle on the Green and immediately knew this was going to be one of those classic winter weddings—elegant venue, cozy energy inside, and that “okay yes this is cold but it’s totally worth it” magic outside. Ariana + Michael handled the chill like pros so we could capture romantic snowy wedding portraits that feel straight out of a movie. And honestly? We only had one groomsman eat it on the ice, so I’m calling that a win (you good, my guy?).
This was our second wedding with the Cook family, and at this point we’re basically claiming honorary cousin status. A few months earlier we photographed and filmed Ariana’s cousin Nicole’s wedding, and it’s the kind of full-circle connection we love—the kind where you walk in and feel like the people around you genuinely want you there. That vibe changes everything. It turns “vendors” into part of the day, and it gives us the space to create the kind of real, candid wedding photography that feels like you, not a Pinterest template.
And let’s talk reception energy: ALMOST EASY played again and they absolutely rocked the room. The warmth inside—family, friends, speeches, laughter—was the perfect contrast to the winter weather outside. That mix is what makes a New Jersey winter wedding so good: crisp air, snow outside, and a reception that feels extra cozy and alive.
We couldn’t say it better than Michael did when he said, “Your heart is pure and your love is compelling.” You two have something rare, and it showed in every moment—the way your people showed up for you, the way you looked at each other, the way the day felt from start to finish. Thank you for trusting us to document your wedding at The Carlsyle on the Green. That trust means everything, and we’re seriously grateful we got to tell this story.
